Planting Seeds

Week #39 of 52- September 24th One of the biggest benefits of homeschooling for us has been the freedom to choose our own curriculum.  I love that we read the Bible every day in our History and Science lessons.  It is so important to Adam and I for the boys’ education to be based on the truths God has given us in the Bible. Jonah and Caleb had a science project today based on Matthew 13:3-8.  In the verses Jesus shares a parable about sharing the good news of Him being like planting seeds : 3 Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed....

A New Favorite

September 24th, 2013 I have been hearing this song for a month now and anxiously waiting for it to become available for purchase.  Every time I hear it, I get goose bumps.  The words are beyond powerful. His grace is never ending.  May this song challenge you to look at all of the ways God’s grace has been a present force in your life as much as it has challenged me.  You can download it now… Your Grace Finds Me by Matt Redman. The National WWII Museum

Week #38 of 52- September 21st Our original plans for our Saturday with Adam’s parents consisted of watching all 3 boys play their second soccer games of the season.  However, the weather changed all of that and all 3 of the games were cancelled.  The boys were definitely disappointed that Grandma and Grandpa were not going to be able to see them play but we really made the most of our “all of a sudden” free day.  We started the morning off with beignets and then headed down to New Orleans to explore The National WWII Museum.  We have been wanting to visit this museum...

Grandma & Grandpa Peterson’s Visit

Week #38 of 52- September 18th-20th Grandma and Grandpa Peterson came for a long weekend visit with us.  They arrived on Wednesday afternoon and were able to stay until Monday.  We had a great few days with them and look forward to seeing them again soon! Adam and I had heard from several people in Baton Rouge that we had to try Roberto’s. It was definitely a little hole in the wall place but the food was great… especially the Fried Green Tomatoes! While Adam was working on Friday, we headed to the bowling alley. As always, it was a fun time! Strike! He looks like a...

Date Night at the Game

Week #37 of 52- September 14th Adam’s work rewarded him 2 tickets to the LSU vs. Kent State game this weekend.  The boys were bummed when he broke the news to them that I would be taking the 2nd ticket, but we promised them that we would all be going to an LSU game as a family in the near future.  That helped ease the tension.  🙂 The Tigers owned the game from the start (as everyone expected) but we still had a lot of fun!  It was interesting to see the difference in the dynamic of the crowd for this game compared to the SEC game we attended last year.  Don’t get me...
