February 21st, 2014 My birthday was quiet this year, with everything going on with Adam’s foot and the recent move).  Let’s just say that we needed the quiet. February 14th, 2014 We had an extra bonus this year in that Dad was here to see the boys that morning.  After taking a conference call from home early that morning, he had meetings at the plant in Baytown instead of the HQ building for the day.  So he was able to see the boys before he left. The “Lichen Meter”

February 12th, 2014 These 3 LOVE science.  Jonah and Caleb had a fun experiment today that had all 3 of them outside searching for lichen on our trees.  They had no trouble finding it.  After making a meter out of yarn and a metal hanger (forming a grid pattern with the yarn), they held it up to the lichen and took a percentage of lichen in the grid pattern of the meter.  The more lichen, the less polluted the air.  We had lots of lichen!
