November 28th, 2014

For the past several years we have either traveled for or hosted Thanksgiving.  As Thanksgiving approached this year, we realized how long it had been since we had the holiday break without anything on our schedule.  While we missed seeing family and friends, it was kind of nice to have some low key days at home together. Adam had a great idea to help us focus on some quality time together as a family and not allow the time together to be wasted.  He had each of the boys make a list of 3 things they would like to do during our Thanksgiving break.  This was brilliant!  Their ideas were great and we had fun trying to check as many of them off as possible.

Sumner:

Laser Tag.

Have fun.  🙂   (I like how he thinks!)

Play Clue.

Jonah:

Bowling.

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving movie night.

Go- Carts.

Caleb:

Go to the park.

Pass the pigs.  (His favorite game.)

Ice Skate.

We were able to check off 7 of the 9 items, with a plan of checking off the final 2 within the next few weeks.

I would call that a success!

Here are some photos from 2 of the completed activities.

IMG_1003One of the things we love most about our new home is all of the outdoor possibilities around us.

This park is a couple minutes from our house and has the perfect area for some 2-Hand-Touch-Football.
