Insta-Lately… March

March 31st, 2015   That moment when your 8 year old accidentally hits the button that folds the bucket seat he is sitting in, seeing his face as the seat starts folding up with him inside, and hearing him frantically ask, “What is happening?”  Priceless. #hecantsitstilltosavehislife #TBT to last Saturday @SeaWorldSanAntonio. #flamingosmakemehappy My dapper young men.  I <3 the ties. #theycleanupwell Fun days ahead as our house is now wrapped in plastic thanks to tiles throughout the first floor not being installed correctly and cracking.  A week of construction ahead. ...

Construction Zone

March 16th- 26th, 2015 When we purchased this home, one of the things that drew us to it was the travertine flooring on a good portion of the first floor.  We had travertine in Baton Rouge and loved it…Loved the look and the easy clean-up.  This house has been a completely different story.  For the past 11 days, we have been living in a construction zone.  76 tiles were cracked and had to be cut out and replaced.  In the “tearing out” process, tiles surrounding the tiles needing to be replaced were chipped and cracked too, bringing the total number of tiles replaced to...

San Antonio Riverwalk

March 8th, 2015 Before heading back home on Sunday, we visited the Alamo and walked the San Antonio Riverwalk.  The weather was not cooperative on this day with heavy downpours off and on all afternoon.  That, paired with the fact that photos are not allowed inside the Alamo buildings, prevented me from getting many photos there.  A break in the rain after lunch allowed me to get some photos of our walk along the Riverwalk.  Such a pretty place! Before checking out of the hotel, grandma, grandpa and the boys hit the basketball court to shoot a few hoops. Grandma showed them all how it is...

Sea World, San Antonio, Take 2… Bring on the Orcas!

March 7th, 2015 No one can visit Sea World without seeing the Orcas!  We ended up getting to see 2 different Orca Whale shows at the park, One Ocean was in the afternoon and Shamu’s Celebration, an even more lively one, was the last show of the night!  Here are some photos from the first.  The orcas are so fun to watch!  There were a total of 6 in the show, including a 15 month old and her mama. And now we are ready for the 2nd big coaster of the day, The Great White.  The boys rode it earlier in the day while we went and held some seats for the Beluga/Dolphin show.  But...

Sea World, San Antonio

March 7th, 2015 Adam’s parents came for a visit and we decided to take a short trip over to San Antonio for the weekend.  With the timing of Spring Break, we weren’t sure what the crowds would be like at the park, especially since Saturday turned out to be one of the few days without rain for the past 3 weeks.  It ended up being perfect!  No crowds and beautiful weather to boot.  Sumner and Jonah had been to the park years ago and remembered some of it but were anxious to ride the big roller coasters this trip.  Caleb was less than a year old when we were there last it was...
