Caleb’s Decision

July 26th, 2015 Caleb made an important decision tonight.  He gave his life to Jesus.  He has been asking a lot of questions about God and faith over the past few months and tonight he made the decision to ask Christ into his heart forever.  It has to be the best feeling ever for a parent to know that they will be with their child for eternity!  And now we have the promise of spending eternity with all 3 of our boys.  What a gift God has given each of us in Christ!  Adam and I are thrilled for Caleb and the life God has in store for him. After Adam and I had some time with...

Stormy Days

June 16th, 2015 We just returned home from my Annie’s funeral.  We all knew the day was coming but it came a lot sooner than I expected.  In late April/Early May I felt the Lord really pulling on my heart; telling me to get back to St. Louis.  Adam was already planning on going up to do a service project with Sumner.  Jonah, Caleb, and I decided to join them for the drive as I decided that I needed to obey God’s calling.  I am so thankful that I did.  This visit to St. Louis would be the last time I saw my Annie.  I was able to spend precious time with her and my grandpa...

2nd Annual Filter’s Fund 5K

May 3rd, 2014 We participated in the first Filter’s Fund 5K last year (You can read about that here.)  and were looking forward to doing it again this year.  Adam’s injury changed our plans a little, but he was determined to do what he could in honor of his cousin.  There isn’t a day that goes by where we are not reminded of Garrett in some way.  Our hearts hurt for his family.  But God has continued to use Garrett’s story to further His kingdom.  It has truly been powerful to see.  We continue to be challenged by Garrett’s love for life, love for his...

It Could Have Been So Much Worse.

April 10th, 2014 It could have been so much worse.  Those words have been repeated countless times over the past 8 weeks.  Those words could not be more true. (Before I go any further, I should warn you that there will be some photos in this post that may be hard to look at.) I have thought about this post for weeks now, not sure how to begin or what to include.  I finally came to the realization that I just needed to put it all out there.  First of all, Adam and I want to remember every detail, so we don’t fall back into the trap of taking things for granted.  Second of all, I...

Planting Seeds

Week #39 of 52- September 24th One of the biggest benefits of homeschooling for us has been the freedom to choose our own curriculum.  I love that we read the Bible every day in our History and Science lessons.  It is so important to Adam and I for the boys’ education to be based on the truths God has given us in the Bible. Jonah and Caleb had a science project today based on Matthew 13:3-8.  In the verses Jesus shares a parable about sharing the good news of Him being like planting seeds : 3 Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed....
