Bringing Sadie Home

December 3rd, 2015 It had been 3 weeks since we had seen Sadie at the breeder’s.  We were all anxious to see her and see how much she had grown.  You can read her story here…  Caleb’s dream about getting a puppy had one more specific detail about Adam not being there with us when we picked the puppy up.  I had thought that was strange.  Why wouldn’t he be with us if we ever did get a puppy?  No way would he want to miss it!  Well fast forward to real life and we had a dilemma: The breeder preferred for the puppies to be picked up between 1 and 4 pm, Monday...

Miss Sadie Grace

November 13th, 2015 Sadie’s Story… About a year ago (December 2015) Caleb came to me about a dream he had the previous night. He told me that he had a dream that we were getting a puppy.  Of course that immediately drew my attention because Caleb is very allergic to dogs.  We have all wanted a puppy, but after several attempts of having Caleb pet hypo-allergenic dogs, him breaking out to every one of them, and a lot of research into different “allergy friendly” breeds, we had given up.  But his dream was vivid.  He gave me every little detail.  Long story short,...

Time for Bowling!

Week #52 of 52- December 26th It is really hard for me to believe that my boys have never been bowling with my dad.  It was time to change that! Growing up, we actually went bowling as a family quite often.  I was never really that great at it but my dad is another story!  He loves bowling and is quite good at it.   We bowled a couple of games, just the 7 of us, and had so much fun! My 3 crazies. The boys were in awe of Grandpa’s Strikes.  It got to the point that they would all stop what they were doing and watch him each time he bowled.  No pressure! Had to put a...

You Can’t Make This Stuff Up!

Week #40 of 52- October 1st To tell this story, we have to start back about a month ago.  At Jonah’s 11 year check up, our pediatrician informed me that they were following new guidelines and having all 11 year olds undergo some blood work to establish base line levels for Cholesterol,  Iron, and Hemoglobin.  She wanted Sumner to have the blood work done as well, since he did not have it done last year.  You can imagine the boys’ feelings about this.  We decided to come back another day and just deal with the usual vaccines for this visit. Well, today was the day.  As the...

Another New Chapter

Week #32 of 52- August 11th Almost exactly a year ago, we ventured into new territory when Sumner entered the youth program at church.  Today, it was Jonah’s turn.  I must say that this one was definitely easier, knowing Sumner was in there with him to help him navigate this new freedom.  But it is was still hard.  Our years with him under our roof are quickly disappearing.  It seems the older they get, the quicker time flies. Jonah has been counting down the days for promotion Sunday all summer long.  He has seen the fun his brother has had over the past year and yearned for...
