Construction Zone

March 16th- 26th, 2015 When we purchased this home, one of the things that drew us to it was the travertine flooring on a good portion of the first floor.  We had travertine in Baton Rouge and loved it…Loved the look and the easy clean-up.  This house has been a completely different story.  For the past 11 days, we have been living in a construction zone.  76 tiles were cracked and had to be cut out and replaced.  In the “tearing out” process, tiles surrounding the tiles needing to be replaced were chipped and cracked too, bringing the total number of tiles replaced to...

Grandma & Grandpa Williams’ Visit

May 3rd- May 10th My parents flew down for a week and we were fairly successful in fitting in as much as possible.  We had not seen them since Christmas and their visit was one we had been counting down to.  Our goals for the week were not so much of “What can we see/do in Houston” but more of “What can we get done around the house?”  We have been so fortunate to have Adam’s parents down twice and now my parents down for a week to help us out with lots of odds and ends around the house that I just couldn’t do myself and Adam definitely couldn’t do...

Saying Goodbye to Grand Field Ave.

January 11, 2014 The pack-up was a little different on this move than on our past moves in that we had the same 3 man crew for the entire packing, loading, unloading, and unpacking processes.  Adam and I were unsure of how having 3 men packing instead of the 4-5 we had in our past moves would work.  It definitely made the packing time take longer but it was nice to have the same 3 people for everything.  They took their work very seriously and were extremely careful with all of our stuff.  Overall, we were with them for 4 days in Baton Rouge and 2 days in Houston.  By the end of the...

So We Moved…

It’s been awhile since I have updated this blog.  No worries… I am going to get this blog caught up again! The month of January flew by for our family.  Adam had a quick trip to Houston and made it back to Baton Rouge a few hours before the movers arrived to start the packing process.  The first day of packing also happened to be Caleb’s birthday (not how we wanted to celebrate but special none the less).  5 days later, we were on the road to a new start in Houston.  You could say that everything changed in January! The memories we capture here are priceless for us and...
